In this paper, we demonstrate the long-term maturation of our high-density collagen, patient-specific ear constructs following 6 months in vivo. We show that our engineered ears maintain a highly detailed morphology and develop auricular cartilage specific microstructure. They also display similar mechanical and biochemical properties to native cartilage. The extended stability of these ears demonstrates the potential for auricular reconstruction using injection molded tissue engineered constructs.
