Articular Cartilage Lubricated in PBS or Hymovis

Videos below show articular cartilage that has been fluorescently stained and subjected to cyclic sliding against polished glass while bathed in a lubricant. The cartilage is articulated at a sliding speed of 1mm/sec, with the articular surface oriented at the top of the video. The first video shows cartilage bathed with PBS, and the bottom video shows cartilage bathed in Hymovis. The tissue bathed in PBS shows higher strains at the surface compared to cartilage bathed in Hymovis.
